Philanthropic/ Community Efforts

CCM&T believes in ongoing philanthrophic and community efforts to help those in need. We provide support to families within the community through meal trains. Our drives and special events give us a chance to have a positive impact within the Naperville area.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Cradles to Crayons donation drive!

Together we provided 75 reading books, 14 art books, 56 packs of art supplies and a 50 pack of play dough for children ages 0-12 in the Chicagoland area!

Cradles to Crayons mission is to provide children from birth through age 12 with the everyday essentials they need to thrive — at home, at school, and at play. Our overarching vision — a future free of childhood poverty — inspires our work every day.

For more information on Cradles to Crayons mission and other ways to donate, please visit there website: https://www.cradlestocrayons.org”

Ready to purge old toys before the holidays?
Please consider donating clean and working used toys to the CCM&T Toy Drive. CCM&T will be donating the used toys to The Toy Box Connection, a non-profit that will redistribute the toys to other non-profits who place those toys directly into the hands of the children who need them. A list of acceptable used toys can be found at http://www.toyboxconnection.com/donate/

We are collecting toys at the Coughlan’s home from now through November 15th or at the following events: Couple’s Night Out on November 4th and the Ladies Holiday Event.

Bernie's Book Bank Drive

CCM&T raised almost 200 books to support Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization that provides books to children in the Chicagoland area who normally wouldn't have any books to read in their home. According to Bernie's Book Bank, "2 out of 3 low income children have no books of their own." Thank you to everyone who donate!

Check out what Bernie's Book Bank has to say about their mission:
"We are a small but mighty organization with a rapidly growing mission. In the last year alone we have distributed over 2.6 million books to over 250,000 children. We are making an impact but there are still more children that need our help. This year our goal is to distribute 4 million books to 350,000 children in the Chicagoland area. We provide books for children ages birth through 6th grade. Each child in our program gets 6 books twice a year. If a child enters our program at birth, they can end up with 144 books in their own private library. 144 books that they may not otherwise have if it were not for our program!"

Meet Nora

Nora LaBanco is a 4 year old Cress Creek Commons resident that is currently battling a rare kidney disease called FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis). This disease causes permanent scarring of the kidneys and may lead to kidney failure (requiring dialysis or transplant).

The goal is to find a medication that Nora will respond to in order to get into remission and slow down the scarring of her kidneys. The hope is that there will be enough funding for research to find a cure or at least better treatment options so Nora will never need dialysis or a transplant.

Please follow Nora’s brave battle and learn her whole story at https://www.facebook.com/NoraBeanFSGS/  Thanks for your support!

Picture
Please join Nora, her family, and CCM&T to raise awareness and funding for a FSGS cure by participating in a walk on September 17th in Downers Grove. Please consider walking or donating:

Together we can make a difference!
